There are only a small percentage of non trashy designs, but for NIKE they could be improved.

It's like they hired the "VROOOOOOOOOOM....F" kid from the Maddox articles and made him the senior designer. WTF?

"Let's make the most vomit-inducing, epileptic seizure causing designs we can make, and see if people still buy them because they're Nike"

I think #3 isn't so bad, but I would imagine it's trying to fit into the "swag" scene where obnoxious colors are paramount.

Anything sold in foot locker is going to suck. It's part of their requirement to sell your shoes there.

Old Nike designs werent much better. #3 and 4 are ok. I wouldnt pay money for them, but not terrible.

I never like Nike, if i needed running shoes it was New Balance. I dont bother with either anymore, i get Merrells.

you don't like the color schemes or you don't like the design of the shoe itself? most of their styles seem to also come in less gawdy color schemes.

The shoes you have linked all have a large part of their design dictated by the materials and construction used for making the shoes as lightweight as possible.

You know all of those shoes have a ton of different color schemes right?

I have a pair of FreeRun 2s. They are amazing.

Pretty much all running shoes have shitty color schemes that look like something a 5yr old would draw and it's not just Nike...don't buy running shoes. I go to the Nike outlet store and while the majority look like shit there's always a couple I can live with, and I walk away from my once a year shoe buying trip happy.

I recently looked at Nike the other day, my wife seems to like them. I could not find a shoe that I would be caught dead in. They looked like absolute crap for the most part, with a few exceptions, and then they either were too thin for comfort, or not in my size.

The U.S. military did a study and found specialized shoes and especially soles are bollocks. Basically, it comes down to barefoot or basic foot cover -i.e. 1940's sneakers are the pinnacle of design and everything thereafter is baseless marketing.

Actually maybe even 1910's or 1920's.

I like the last ones in the OP, but I only wear New Balance for my running shoes, so I have not even really looked at any other Nike designs.

because those shoes cost 10 cents to manufacture and they can turn out new "designs" in like 5 minutes using college interns as labor.

You're obviously not part of the ethnic or socio-economic groups they're aiming for.

this is for the most part correct, along with it the old style shoes generate less injuries then then new ones
