I am so sick of dealing with moron bidders on eBay. I swear, no matter how much I spell something out in an auction, people pay absolutely no attention. Almost EVERY single auction I run ends up with someone waiting until after they had won the item to ask me a bunch of questions, and then they decide they "don't want it". I mean, what is the deal??? Why is it so hard to follow simple rules??? They also never read the listing at all. I mean, of all the questions I get, 99% of them are already answered in the listing, which only proves my theory that the eBay trash crowd only looks at the pretty pictures, and somehow manages to click the "Place Bid" button all by themselves. I need to start a site like eBay, but with automatic banning of anyone who is a total moron. Anyone want to be my partner???

I don't know, did you just win one of my auctions, THEN tell me that before you send me any money, you demand to have some questions answered?

Yep, there are a lot of morons on EBay.

Just overcharge on shipping & laugh all the way to the bank.

My rant about EBayers is international sales, I don't mind APO boxes, but folks from Canada & overseas that ask you to commit mail fraud irritate me... "What part about "No International Sales" didn't you understand?

"Not a registered user"...19 positve feedbacks, what's your point? If your point was that ALL eBay users aren't morons, yes, obviously I know that. I was trying to make a point.

But you don't get all your fees back; only final value. Listing fee will remain the profit of ebay regardless of nonpaying bidder, fraud (even due to ebay's inaction to deter fraud), or whatever the case may be. Regardless, I've come to realize that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I now have a mandatory ebay-inability-to-respond-to-fraud fee that I tack onto the shipping costs for everyone.

Leave a negative feedback for a non-paying bidder chances are very good you get a retalitory negative in return. Now the jerk has not only trashed your auction, but trashed your feedback rating as well. An honest seller has no recourse against this.

(Unless something has changed in the last few months, we have not been active for a while, sitting with a 1099 feedback.)

You got that right, This is exactly why I'd now rather throw an older digital camera in the trashcan then deal with e-bayers. (or give it away) Last Auction I held was for a Juice Man Juicer, I swear I got 100 emails about condition when it was clearly spelled out in the description, then about 20 emails asking about recpies WTF? I'ts got a book. Not worth it to me over a $150 old item.

So anyway now I throw most everything away like the watseful american I am.

No kidding...I was once selling a PDA package that had a reserve of over $1000 (and don't get me started about everyone e-mailing you asking your reserve). Some guy e-mails me and asks if I would TRADE him for, get this, a blueprint of the Batmobile! I politely refused, but he kept e-mailing me about it until I told him where he could store that blueprint.

That's funny. Wouldn't a lawyer only work if the winning bidder is in the same state?

Welcome to America. Where the average person's law knowledge extends to "he has a lawyer, he can sue me", and the threat of a lawsuit can get you almost anything you want

More and more people know now it's just to expensive to get a lawyer and sue. Now I just send my non-paying bidders a collection notice from my "self-created" collection agency and threaten to ruin their credit.

My rant about eBayers is also about international sales.

What the hell do you have against Canada? I'm paying shipping. I'm paying handling. I'm the one getting reamed by the customs guys for an extra 15% taxes. Now why the hell won't you sell your items to me?

Sorry for the confusion, but I will concede that point. There are a lot of clueless ones out there that cant tell their head from a hole in the ground.

By placing a bid, they submit to jurisdiction of my choice. I can sue in my state and have county sherrfis execute seize his assets in another.

M4H: Its an intimidation thing. A lot of people are morons, so filling out a one page customs declaration is beyond their capacity. If they cant figure out what "s&H is $15" what makes you think they'll know what a cosignee is?

ebay is a moron wonderland

sometimes, I sell stuff on ebay and deal with the following situation..

stated the following TOS

Bidders with < 5 feedbacks please email me to ok first before bidding.
I only ship within US to lower 48 states. (Do NOT bid if u are located in Alaska, Canada, Hawaii or Puerto Rico). No PO Box / APO

- morons with 0 or -ve feedback still bid and even win my item then become deadbeat NPB

- morons in canada bid and win the auction, and I told him I won't ship and he left me -ve feedback..

- morons say shipping is too high, and I explain it invloved handling and insurance, he told me to fvck off and left -ve..

WTF with those morons, can't read ????

ebay won't even let me have a setting that automactically rule out buyer with < 5 feedback, go figure..

jimmyhaha - tired of dealing morons in ebay..

I've had Canadian's bid on my auctions when I've said "No international sales". Want to know what I did? I charged them extra for shipping, mailed the item, and left it at that. Fortunately, I've only had to deal with a couple of stupid buyers. Most everyone else has been pretty good.

Yeah some jerk off did that to me....two people one account, one says the money has been sent, then you email a week later when nothing came and the other person says they will do it right away....anyways 20 days I re-email and they are claiming I am really not a truly registered member so by the rules they don't have to pay (?!? since 1998 I have been registered).

So I neg them, then they neg me back with the comment "not registered, no trust!!!"

sigh...today two of my auctions got emails "are the manuals included?" when in the auction it states, Manuals included.

Then you have the people who contact you outside the auction and want you to end it early at below the current price. "Do you want money in hand now, or want to wait and risk a non-paying bidder?"....whatever.

Only one non-payer online so far though and it was a shipper not collecting the COD....so we drove there and knocked on the guys door :) he almost died....wanted to write us a check, but we told him we need cash (back around the mid 90's, Amiga 3000 Tower, loaded and about a $2500 sale)

Still good place to move extinct stuff.

I had someone buy an mp3 player from me. After he won it (of course), he asked if it still had the manual, which it didn't. He then "threatened" to not pay for the item since it was "damaged". He ranted and raved about how impossible it would be to use this thing (it's a freaking mp3 player) without the manual. I went to the manufacturer's website, and downloaded a manual, all in about 2 minutes, and e-mailed him the 2 page thing. So retarded.
