Why are 3.5" external hard drive enclosures so damn fugly?

I'm looking for a hard drive enclosure to use with my laptop and almost every one I look at just looks freakin annoying. Why must every cheap no-name brand company choose to splash their name on the side of the unit? Why do they have to add rice lights to an otherwise decent looking box? Why can't I just find a decent looking box, that works well and isn't an eyesore sitting on my desk? The only one that meets this criteria that I've found is the Adaptec ACS-100 and 200 and they are like double the cost of a bargain brand unit. Does anyone know a cheaper enclosure that doesn't look all cheap?

It?s in the eye of the beholder. What do you consider cheap? What do you consider ugly? Do you like trendy, shiny, or plastic? You're leaving a big void here to fill. The Adaptec ACS-100 is a shiny one from what I can see. The more picky you are the more money you are going to pay, plain and simple.
