Why am I suddenly sweating so much?

Admittedly, I am overweight and out of shape. But I never had a sweating problem like I do now. Any little phsycial exertion and I'm sweating like crazy!

I started running about 1 month ago. I go about 4-5 times a week and run for about 30 min each time.

My sweating problem started about 2 weeks into the running.

Whats going on? How can I stop the problem?

Any ideas?

If you started running you're probably hydrating more. More water means more potential sweat. You should have been sweating back before you started running, but were probably under-hydrating yourself before.

I mean I sweat way too easy now. Just a little bit of work and I'm sweating like crazy! I sweat enough that my shirt gets wet. That can't be normal.

Ok I have the answer for you OP. Higher metabolism = higher calorie expenditure rate = more hawt, delicious sweat. I have a very high metabolism (I eat 6 meals a day and weightlift 4-5 days a week, heavy lifting, and run 1-2 times a week). Your running has granted you a higher metabolism. There is no problem. Sweat = keeps your body cool. The more you sweat, the more you know your body's actually working. When I first started working out (it started with only running), my sweat rate skyrocketed. Try this. Run in the morning, right when you wake up (your metabolism will be at the lowest when you wake up due to your sedentary sleeping state). Then you will notice with very light exercise later on in the day (walking fast, etc, just daily routines), you will begin to sweat. Anyways, after workouts always shower. Think of the kittens. :)

Makes sense I guess. Good to know my metablolism is increasing. Hopefully I'll shed some weight.

Remember, if you're trying to lose weight, eat 6 times a day (small meals), to increase metabolism. High protein, low carbs, and very low fat. Completely cut sugar out of your diet, except for fruits. You should intake 1g protein for each pound of body weight you have, daily. Space it out. Eat a lot of protein before and after working out (within 30-45 minutes before and within 30-45 minutes after). Eat whole wheat bread (not too much :p) instead of white (proccessed). Eat things like chicken and tuna. Steak and meat has too much fat, you shouldn't eat it often. I can go on and on. Good luck, OP! :)

6 meals a day? Woah, I would have to eat like every 2 hours! Thats crazy!

I go running at night, around 10pm so I usually have my last meal around 8pm or so.

Do you sweat while just not doing anything? Like sitting at work?
I have underarm hyperhidrosis. I get a Botox treatment every 4 months or so and problem goes away.

I suggest you do not run that late.
What I do is run after I get out of bed, so after I am done, I can have the shower that I would be taking anyways. It works out well.
And if you do some good exercising in the morining, it will help keep your metabolism up for the whole day.

If I'm sitting around, I don't sweat. Only when doing something that requires physical exertion.

Like walking up a flight of stairs, walking briskly, only then do I start sweating a lot.
