Why am I finding it harder to learn the US states than the countries of the world?

I remember watching that as a kid. I'm still impressed to this day :D

Yeah I loved that when I first saw it. But if you examen it you realize that it's a fairly easy tune to fit most any word to. And those that don't fit you just throw into the mix at the end of the song.

95% of americans can't name all 50 states, i would wager.

hell, i probably couldn't. i'd forget minnesota. i always forget minnesota.

That might be a risky wager. Too many of us had to learn that damn "50 Nifty United States" song - all 50 states in alphabetical order.

That's better then me, I don't even think I remember all our provinces anymore. i used to before. I coudl probably manage to get them all down without research given enough time to think but it's not something I could just blurt out loud very fast.

If you want a laugh check that show where Canadians interview Americans LOL. Our parliment is melting because of global warming.

OK I've got all the US presidents now. That is I know the order in which they all served, I don't know the dates.

I found it to be about the same. I suppose it depends on what type of literature/media you are exposed to...as it makes them sound more 'familiar'.

Also, the Animaniacs had songs for both US states and the countries of the world. Good stuff.
