It is a bought Dell Inspiron 1525 with intel P D-coreAnd, what are the specs of your system? Some pre-built systems come with trial software that expires after a set amount of time - to continue to access some features, you have to purchase the software. Dell does this on some of their systems with graphical software.
I am being asked to register to see photo's in a slide show why?
I have a legit version of windows vista and a legit version of microsoft office.
Please can anyone assist me with this? Hope so, thank you, dvtrvD:
I'll try as you suggested and to the other people who posted i say the following. After a little research, I think the software at issue is some form of nagware or ransomware that was installed with another product - I'll bet it pops up for a lot more things than just trying to view photos. The trick now is to figure out what it was installed with so you'll know what to uninstall to get rid of it. My prior advice about running Malwarebytes still applies, though.
(Whose photos? Whose slide show? What is the URL involved in such a request?) My photos, my slideshow, what URL? Are you drunk
I have scanned and searched and have even deleted a newly installed program and have also scanned my computer with malware antimalware and spybot and nothing signicantly came up. I have restarted my computer and have even done a repair from my Vista disc and nothing has been found. Those answers mean something. If you are being asked to register, then that process must be online, and it has an address, i.e., URL. No, I am not drunk.
What program are we dealing with? If they are your photos, you must have them stored in a program that includes a slideshow. Appartently you have been victimized by some sneaky bundled software. Identify the rogue program and uninstall it.
I would make sure my photos are in a safe place, and then do all the above house cleaning suggestions.
Windows 7 and Vista have a good photo viewer built in. You can also download and install a good free one like Irfanview or Gimp. This registration gambit suggests you have somehow saved your photos off line in "the cloud." Almost smells like Facebook or something similar. BTW, that has a URL!![]()
