WHS PowerPack 3 coming Tuesday

It does, but it adds functionality to Win7 Clients that they do not currently have. I'm looking forward to it, but I would say excited is a bit strong. Then again, it really is just a software update.

I downloaded PP3 when it first Beta'd and put together a trial version of WHS on my Hyper-V server. I attached it to my to Win7 RC boxes.

It worked fine. Being able to automatically move my TV recordings to WHS while showing them in Win7's Media Center was nice. As was the ability to automatically convert the recordings to various portable media formats.

Enthusiasts tend to see WHS mainly as one of the best solution for NAS.

But WHS can do much much more with the big number of Add-ins (many free).

Look at this site, http://www.whsplus.com

The categories are at the top on the black line menu, pull each category down and see what is available, you might be surprise.

I love WHS; I use it as my personal web-host as well

Been debating whether or not to pick up that 200 dollar HP LX195 WHS unit from Newegg. The small hard drive and no internal expansion kinda turns me away though.

This isn't a bad option to consider, $150 expiring after tonight

Combine this with 1.5 TB HD Deals around $90-100 this week and it would be a great start for a WHS box

Yeah, these would be great for many folks who are going to mostly use WHS for backups, but the lack of internal disk expansion is kinda' limiting. I guess you can always add cheap external disks, but I hate doing that for "permanent" expansion.
