WHR-HP-G54 Causing my computer to crash

I just got a laptop and a Buffalo wireless router to go with it. Now, though, I can't use the internet on my desktop because within seconds of plugging in the network cable to the router, the desktop will crash. The desktop is rock stable normally (nothing overclocked) and I'm thinking there's some sort of conflict with the router but I don't know how to go about finding it.

Any ideas? The wireless works fine, I'm typing this from the laptop right now.

What errors are you getting on the desktop?

It's a BSoD. I can give you the exact output but how useful is that?

have you tried a diff router on your desktop? Maybe it's not the router but the cable or just haivng something plugged into the port that's causing the crash?
