whose using a videocard that has a DVI support & is the quality noticeable?

I have a monitor that supports both analog & digital connections, but my videocard has no DVI port, so for the time being, I have to image how much better my display would look if I was using my digital connector. Can anyone using a monitor with DVI support along with a good videocard with DVI support say that the quality is as big of an improvement as when going for a VCR to a DVD player? if you think it has gotten better, in what ways? is the image sharper? color better?
