Who's your favourite comedian?

Jerry Seinfeld, Lewis Black, Robin Williams (not in that order though - can't decide who I like better).

I never heard Robin Williams do standup before, then I got an XM Radio. They play him on XM Comedy XL and he's hilarious. I'm going to have to pick up some of his CDs.

I'm very glad to see no one mentioned the four blue collar guys, for the most part they are NOT funny. There's one that's not too bad (not foxworthy, or the guy with the cigar and drink, or the 'git er dun' idiot), I usually like his stuff on Bob and Tom. I don't think he likes being part of the Blue Collar craze though - he was on Bob and Tom one morning and sounded like he was seriously sick of it and wanted it to just be over with.

Sounds like Bill Engvall... IMHO he was the best of the four. Foxworthy is ok sometimes, but then I live in southern Indiana (but was not born here) so I can identify with some of that stuff (seeing neighbors with a house that is mobile and 14 cars that aren't). :frown:

The other two just aren't funny. The guy with the cigar is boring, but that could be because I've seen several of his productions, and he tells almost exactly the same jokes each friggin time.

BTW (a non-related IMNSHO), though I have nothing against crude comedy (heck, I like Robin Williams), I don't care for comedians whose whole routine is based on the excessive use of swearing and disgusting crap. Also, being somewhat sheltered growing up, I don't get any of the "inner city" type humor, which means that I don't "get" most of the African-American comedians (Richard Pryor was still funny, regardless). Eddie Izzard also didn't make any sense to me on "The Definite Article" because it was so filled with British English that I couldn't figure out most of the jokes (the beeper machine aka barcode scanner at the store part was awesome, though).

Too hard to decide but I would say my top 5 in no order are:

George Carlin
Chris Rock
George Lopez
Robin Williams
Eddie Murphy (back when he did standup and not lame kids movies 🙁 )
