Seems like every thread is "yet another __ thread"! It was alright when it was just YAGT, YACT, but its getting ridiculous with all these things... don't ya think?

If you're posting on your particular situation that involves a topic that has been posted many times before, you might come across as being a rube if you didn't at least acknowledge that the subject has been broached before. What else are you going to do?

The standard YA?T acronyms are useful and efficient. Sometimes they're necessary to determine the thread content before clicking thru. eg. "Sweet eclipse pics" could be talking about the mitsubishi car or lunar/solar eclipses.

Crazy acronyms are annoying. eg.
YACT (Yet Another Cauliflower Thread)
YADDBPT (Yet Another Deftly Disguised Babe Pics Thread)

edit: what's up with my user class? Is fusetalk broken?

what's the difference? You just put YA_T at the beginning so you have a little more context to go with the title.

I don't mind if people put YA_T in the title, but if you're going to use short hand don't put what it stands for in parenthesis.

Well this thread was useful in that it shined some light on what YA-T stood for. I had no idea what it stood for.
