Who's the poorest here?

I'm selling stuff and trying to borrow from friends. Rent was due back on the 1st. Many people owe me money (I'm a freelancer) but nobody is paying - just giving me excuses.

No savings - my disabled kid's medical bills wiped that out - and I owe some $ to credit cards.

Make me feel better - tell me you're poorer than I am.

If your child is disabled, I believe you should be collecting some form of disability compensation for him/her, particularly towards the medical bills. Are you not?

Yes - it goes to medical bills! We owe a fortune on that, but it's a different rant.

Not that this is by any means a solution - but then your savings and such should have gone towards your own expenses with disability taking care of the medical issues over time. I mean seriously, the medical bills may stay with you for a while, but I think of things like that as "whatever" in terms of credit. Medical bills shouldn't ever prevent you from eating dinner or having a roof over your head.

I know, that doesn't help much. I feel for you though - I live paycheck to paycheck, but I still get my rent paid every month. :( Don't get down on yourself, and it sounds like you're not too proud to ask for help. Good for you! Here's a  and a :cookie:, hopefully that will tide you over for lunch. :) I'd give you a :sammich; but there's no icon for that.

My mortgage will be 29 days late, which is really scary to me.. Tenants needed repairs that were out of nowhere and my car had a minor accident that needed to be fixed.. and buying the house has been bleeding money from me slowly..we'll make the payment and we won't get a late charge because I discussed it with the mortgage company but.. SCARY.

If the accident is minor and the car still drivable, then don't fix it yet.

I'd get a ticket if I didn't fix it.. Believe me, I considered letting it slide!

I am doing okay right now but two months ago I had the sat tv turned off due to non payment. The electric was on final notice, the landlord had visited asking where the rent was, I told her it was in the mail , must have gotten lost, and I was eating hot dogs almost every day. Store sells them for $1 a pack + $2 for buns = $3 meals for two-three days.

I was watching the guy on fox business, cramer ? And he told someone in the OP position to let the credit cards go, ignore them. It might ruin your credit but who cares, the important thing is keeping you and your family fed, clothed and taken care of.

I can't even imagine the responses that would come if this was posted on FWF.

Been unemployed since March now. I had a little over $10k saved up for a down payment on a house, but that is all gone now and I'm doing side jobs because I still can't find regular employment.

Though I am getting tired of rice for dinner.

I can pay the mortgage payment, but lets just say it's very tight. This week the payment comes out, it is 400 bucks. I have 396 bucks in the bank.

I just have to hope the pay check is processed before the payment. They both happen the same day. I might have some change in my car I can go deposit and the teller will look at me funny. :p

I just changed jobs and won't get a check for a month. On top of the 15% reduction I got in my hours.
