I don't mean intelligence wise, I mean they just do their job really really poorly.
Here's mine: I actually feel bad about this, I hope they put this guy in a position he's better at, or better equipped to do.
Anyway, I work for this place that handles a TON of loans for farmers, billions and billions of dollars we're talkign about. There's 1000's of reports on different loan groups, regions, etc. Now we're switching over from one generation of software to the next. We have to do like before and after testing on the new software to make sure everything matches up. Problem is, NOTHING has matched up so far, so we have to fix it. We keep track of changes we make in an Excel spreadsheet..
well this one guy keeps plowing through 8 or 9 reports in the time it takes me or the other person i sit near to do 1. The problem is, he always passes the reports, he always says that they're fine when he looks at them.....but they're not. Most are blatantly and horribly different. Like columns of numbers change to letters, balances are 30-40 million dollars off. He just doesn't know how to use the software...it honestly looks like he opens reports in one version of the software, and if it doesn't crash, says it passes without comparing it. I tried to be nice about it, but today i was so frustrated I had to actually step out of the office a couple of times, it was ridiculous. We have to double check each others work, and one of my other colleagues found an entire report where every number was off, that this guy said matches up.....Here's the thing, because we have to all go back and double check his work, or double check HIS double checking of other people's..it's like he's actually getting paid to create extra work. I don't know what to say to my boss. I don't want to get him fired, but I'm getting frustrated working with him. She knows he keeps messing up too, she's well aware of the fact, I get the feeling if I say anything else they may can him.
