bin Laden? ;)

j/k

A leader with some vision is something Democrats need desparately. Someone who can rally Democrats to the cause with a unified voice and vision, and possibly some charisma a la Clinton. Sadly, they have nobody to take this role at the moment.

Not yet, but '08 is a long way off.

you're right that '08 is a long way off, but at least for now, he's saying that he plans on having a long career in the senate -- at the very least, finishing out his first term to its completion.

Obama is a Freshman Senator. He is the one democrat with a big win last Tuesday and he's already the leader of the party and the next presidential candidate. He has no record and you guys know little about him. The libs are obviously desparate.

I'd second that. I say his lack of a record is a good thing (tm) and that he could quite easily portray himself as a Washington outsider much like Bush did in 2000. Although, I would imagine this country would have a difficult time electing a (partially) black man as their President. I desperately don't want to think that would be the case, but somehow I get the sense it would be a problem.

& if you look @ who he ran against, it's even scarier anyone considers him for Democratic Leadership.

I'm conservative leaning, but Keys???? LOL.

That's probably correct. McAuliffe should be fired asap.

Leadership comes with success. The only person in the last number of years to garner success is Bill Clinton. He is astute in the political arena and can advance his party toward a victory in '08 when there will not be an incumbent running for reelection for the White House and Chainman won't even think about it assuming his heart holds out.
The focus will be a slow movement from Bill to Hillary over the next few years.. She supported Bush to a larger than expected extent in '03 and '04 and this was part of the plan, I think. A plan to show the Red States that She ain't all that different in the areas that matter... the areas that can swing those states Blue in '08. And, Hillary ain't no dummy! Like Boxer and Feinstein in California she can get votes without a real reason other than she is Hillary.

So... I see Hillary with some moderate running in '08 after a long slow transition of Power from Bill to her.

Edit: This means that the Democratic Party will seemingly move more toward the right... in a crafty sort of way... Say it but don't do it.. Promise it and only vote it if forced to but always look for the reason not to... The solid left will never support the right so there won't be much loss of voter bloc when the real liberal folks get shafted.. and they will.. it is the only way the left can get into office and turn it around again.. hehehhehe.

Is that some kind of slam against the Polish? You just can't make that kind of statement & not back it up...

Have you ever worked on a farm?

I had such high hopes for you then you betray the party with this kind of stuff:(

Nah, if we field an Obama/Hillary ticket in 2008, I suspect it would be a landslide
