Well? Im not, i sat and waited for the hammer to upgrade from my pentium 4 willamette, ended up sitting on socket 754 with little upgrade path and no overclockability. Yay for me
IMO:
Pros of AM2:
-Supports DDR2
-Will be the newest socket, therefore longer upgrade path
-Supposed to support quad core?
Cons:
-Immature socket, unlike 939
-No real performance increase to begin with
-Need a new processor to use it? Dont know if a 939->AM2 adaptor would work, what with 939 using DDR1
-It still uses pins
