For some reason I see a lot of people feeling dejected about this season. Which is sad. Chances are, you're family and/or friends will be round. Chances are, you're going to give and recieve a few pressies. Chances are, you'll get smashed at the work party and have sex with the photocopy lady/guy(j/k ;)) And chances are for us southern hemisphere folk, we'll be having a great time at the beach checking out the merchandise along with the ubiquitous BBQ. We just don't know how lucky we all are. If you're sitting in front of a computer, I presume you're not doing too badly.

I know it's looking up for me. With all the bad points in my life(not many really), the sh!tty decisions I've made(or not made) this year, nothing can get in the way of the good times of the holiday season. I'm gonna laze around on the beach, catch up with friends and rellies, get drunk often, and do other "things" which I'll enjoy. Right now I'm sitting in my boxers, I've just had a few "lemonades", feeling the cool breeze of the summer night air wash over me while listening to Bubble Gum Years by Gomez on my discman, dreaming about the fun instore. I have nothing really planned, but I feel it in my bones and it makes me tingle all over. :)

So charge you're glasses, and here's a toast to the silly season! :D

Who's with me? :)

me- I do a LOT of business in December, hell, I even sold my last old Dell optiplex last night to a client who wanted a box for his 5 yr old.

On the personal side, it's always good to see my family, my adult kids are cool people to spend time with and a couple of my more social friends always manage to drag me out for all sorts of fun.

TripleJ, the way you describe it, you live quite the charmed life!

/me is jealous ;)

j/k I'm in the holiday mood too. I did a lot of my Christmas shopping this weekend. I must be one of the few who actually enjoys shopping for gifts. I like going around the store aisles and thoughtfully picking out things that would delight whoever's on my xmas list. It's more fun for me than receiving presents (or pressies, awe ;)), although getting presents is awesome too. I also like baking Christmas cookies every year especially making gingerbread men 'cause when I'm squirting out the icing to make their clothes I feel like I'm their God something, hehe. It feels really awesome and empowering. :D

Here here for the silly season!

I'm looking very forward to going home in Utah for the holidays. There's no snow here in Houston -- it doesn't feel like Christmas, yet!

Yeah, that's the simplified version of my life.

The only thing I'm not too enthusiastic about is the shopping. I get pretty stressed going shopping, having to chose pressies and spend what little dosh I have. I've heard a report that shopping for males is more stressful than doing a loop-the-loop in a plane! Dunno about that though. Hmmm, only 14 more days to do it. The plan is to just buy what looks like a good pressie and then decide who to give it too afterwards. A friend of mine did their shopping in 1 hour 23 minutes last year. I might tag along with them and pick up some pointers lol. :)

For me this Christmas has been nothing but stress and pressure. I am the best man in my brother's wedding (which BTW is Dec 23) I just started school again, my wife is 5 months preggo, and my three year old is going thru this "creative" stage......So for X-mas weekend I have this to look forward to:

Sat- prep for wedding, make sure all the guys have thier tux's follow up with the out-of-towners..yadd-yadda
Sun- Wedding in the Bay (walnut Creek, actually at Saint Mary's College)
Mon- X-mas eve driving down to the in-laws (4 hour drive to Visalia)
Tue- putting up with 8 little screaming brats at the in-laws while me and my three year old hide in the basement closet until the dust has settled.

Dragging myself back to my little house.....and being exhausted.

I can't wait until this is all over
:(

AND ON TOP OF ALL THAT----> try finding time for my wife and daughter during that span....ain't gonna happen. And that is gonna piss the wife off...like its my fault right?
