the guilt.
the anxiety.
the spending like a madperson to prove yourself to someone?
the mobs, the returns, the burnt out tellers and the tempers..
the parties where you go not becuase you want to but becuase if you dont your the loser selfish a-hole in the family.

i am sorry you feel this way.
It is sad to think that this is the kind of feelings that the chirstmas holiday brings.

I hope you will be able to get past those and try to feel the meaning of what the season should be

(i will stop being sappy now)

Hey - I like the Holidays :) This year, I'm actually trying to give out meaningful presents. They won't be expensive, but I figure they're more in the spirit of Christmas and will mean more than the usual stuff I give out.

And the parties are the best part - I can't wait for my company Christmas party, or Thanksgiving with my father, etc :) I can't wait to buy my christmas tree either :)

ever since i entered adult life, xmas has been this way.
as a kid, xmas was a golden holiday and i even do like the xmas songs and all the xmas shows they play every year..
i maybe get 3 or 4 hours of what i call quality time around the holidays..the rest is just a mad scramble that revolves around that.

i work retail, so the xmas season is good and absolutely terrible at the same time... from the beginning of november til the first of the year, it means a whole lot more hours of work, but that in turn makes me a lot more money than usual. Also, by the end of the first week of december i'm absolutely digusted by christmas music (my manager insists that it be played in the store from the day after thanksgiving through christmas).

but on the positive side, when i'm not working, it's either time with family... or time at the bar relaxing after a long day of annoying customers

I love Christmas time, it brings around a different sort of air, I love going to cut down a tree and buying presents (though this year I think I will be making more becuase of my college budget) Christmas has always been my favorite holiday.
