Who's playing the new BF2 DCON mod?

This mod group was defintiely slow to show up for the game, but they hit it out of the park. Sure it has it's share of problems that you would expect from a first release, but overall I think it's already better in many respects than DC Final.

BF2 was Ok, but I was a huge DC fan that really only played CTF and now it's back!!! I know I am wanting more of the classic maps, Basrah's Edge, Nights, Bocage and more, but so far what is there is excellent. The Domination mode is also nice for a change from CQ. Congratulations and thanks to the DCon team for a great job. Can't wait to see what's in store for the next release.

If you haven't checked it out yet (especially if you are a DC CTF fan), give it a try and I'm certain you will like it.

I've been playing it some. It's fun and brought back some memories. But.....So much bunny hopping and prone spamming and you can shoot as you hop. I guess I've gotten too used to the Project Reality mod and not having so much antics going on.(C4 usage on DCon is crazy). But the mosul map I really like and flying the helos and planes/jets is awesome. Cool effects also. Worth the download but not something I will play a lot of.

it is ok but flying the choppers is still way to easy compared to original dc. that and it becomes a base raping game in a matter of minutes. everybody told me that flying the helos was hard as hell in this release, but they are just as easy as regular bf2.

i have just d/l poe and will be trying that soon 😉

CTF is not for everybody. Base raping is going to be a part of CTF, but this doesn't bother me, and it really doesn't happen that much when you have full servers with experienced CTF players. My bigest complaint right now is that it's hard to find a full CTF server (or even half full). This is an initial release and is still very new; give it some time.

I will admit that I don't see a huge draw for CQ fans, unless you just really want to play the old school DC maps. This mod is all about CTF for me.

A ton of the servers I went on had no CTF. I enjoyed some of the new feature vehicles, but all these mods just feel like mods. nothing else. They don't feel...professional.
But I like PR. DCON so far makes me want to play Bf2v. Not that thats a bad thing, I think its good when I am bored.

Also try the Project Reality mod if you haven't yet. Lots more teamwork and stradegy that holds your interest a lot longer. Cool sounds also.

Its nice arcade experience, if you're bored, it'll definitely entertain for a while.

It's more like BF2:Arcade edition. All about either getting into an aircraft and catapulting yourself across the map to baserape, or driving there in armor.
