I'm playing minecraft too (IGN: Synaesthesia). Is there any kind of Atech server going? 😀

Also, did anyone see the "Drrdrrdrr" caption on the mainpage of the minecraft .exe? I would shit brix if Notch implemented that 🙁. Not to say I don't shit brix already ><

See like 2 posts above.

I really wanted to get this a couple nights ago but the guy who made it said it wasn't working properly...and all the shit is down

Moved the Minecraft server onto it's own PC/server running Windows XP SP3. I'm hoping that's going to resolve some of the dropouts caused by socket timeouts that seem to plague Minecraft servers right now, at least I'm led to believe that will help. We'll see.

So after building my EPIC castle on top of a high mountain, I went out and did some exploring. Long story short, I got lost. I cant find my epic castle. I read on the wiki that I could make a compass, but I need to set a point first. Since the map is pretty much randomly generated, does that mean I lost my castle once I left sight of it?

I would leave a trail of torches Hansel and Gretal style when I would go exploring after building my shelter.

I just build a really really tall lookout tower with lots of torches, and then make sure I know how to get from spawn to my base. Then all you need is a compass.

What's a lot more difficult is finding out where you were to get some of your stuff back if you left it in a chest while you were out exploring.

This game is going to be huge one day.

It's already really good in Alpha.

Easy things to code in will make it the next big thing.

Kraken- Your server address is still the same right?

I'll join up tonight.

Yep, still the same. Whenever I reboot my router, Qwest changes it, but I keep updating the DynDNS information. Going to look into getting a static IP this week sometime.

LOL...my brother in law was trying to make rivers and water falls and found you can destroy the water start point pretty easy and he ruined his water setup. But that is certainly worse!

Yea, I have been trying to control the water, determine the extent of a single water block's spread, what kind of bugs me is that a single block cannot fill a pool.

The minecraft wiki was down on Saturday, so it wasn't until the next day that I discovered how to make tools, made my mining efforts so much easier. I can really go to town now.

So I went to buy the game last night, and I guess the buy system is down and its free to play or something now. I downloaded the exe file and *sigh* it started downloading a bunch of stuff, although I have no idea where it was saving it. I guess it must just be an auto-updater or something. I'm on shitty dial up. Is there a way to download the whole client so I can copy it over?

Hey PingSpike -- From what I understand, that's pretty much the only way to run the game. I'm assuming you just want to play single player and not worry about downloading everytime you run it, perhaps someone else can chime in..

The files it downloads get saved to <Documents&Settings>\<User>\ApplicationData\.minecraft so you should just be able to move that folder to any computer you want.

I guess it was inevitable, but someone logged on sometime during the night and torched a wood house by the beach and a bunch of trees. Going through the logs to see who was on when it happened, but if anyone saw anyone torching other peoples' creations, shoot me a PM on here and I'll take care of it, thanks.
