Socialism is where you invent the absurd notion of private property and then allow a few people to acquire it all according to a set of rules they design. It is the pretext that all men are created equal so long as some own everything. Capitalism occurs in the ghettos where the strong take what they want.

I'm asking you, since just about the whole western world is partly socialist
You asked me if it was bad. Let's get on the same wavelength first. What's your definition of socialism?

You used words and definitions in your "research" of libertarianism. Why shy away when it comes to socialism?
no no, I'm asking you regardless of what we think socialism is, just asking you if you think it is bad
Without first defining socialism would my answer have any meaning? If you're staying general then I must reply in kind. So my answer is "yes and no".

Well, Czar, I'd like to help you out and I realize I'm being annoyingly rigid by requiring a definition of what we'd be talking about before talking about it. But I think it's time to get some basic defintions of things aired out for clarity's sake. That's the reason for most miscommunication, you know, corruption or misinterpretation of the data stream.

Terms like "socialism" can mean several things. Some people, shockingly, seem to hide behind the vagarities and multi-means of such terms to try to avoid challenge.

I can't say if X is good or bad until I know what X is...doesn't have to be a perfect definition, just a working one. Moonbeam also seems unable to oblidge me. Surely it can't be that tough?

Anyway, this should be a separate thread---we're unjustly hijacking this one. :)
