Who's logged into this computer ?

Got a friend who's getting a message that others are logged into her computer when she goes to shut it down. There should be no one but her logged in. Is there a utility that will show who's logged into a computer? Anybody know what might be going on here?

Thanks

must be running 2k3 server or 2kAdv server I would guess, as usually this is a sign that someone is logged into the terminal server (remote desktop). But, I'm not going to assume, I'll wait for you to tell us. For all I know this could be Solaris...

There is so much information about the setting, and configuration of the friend's computer that it is hard to figure out what is wrong.

Believe Fast User Switching will also do this. But, again, not sure if thats available in Windows 3.11 that she's running 🙂

She's running Win XP professional. Up to date patch wise.

Someone else told me that fast user switching will do this but I fail to see how. Mine has it activated and I never get this message and I've checked 4 other computers, same thing.

Thanks for the help guys.

there is another account logged on in the background....instead of shutting down, logout and look at the screen, should show the accounts logged in.

Her account and the administrator account are the onlt 2 accounts that are active. The guest account is disabled as are the 2 default MS remote accounts.

She just loaded Comcast sw on the computer and I'm wondering if it might be doing something funky in the backround. I wouldn't put it past Comcast.

Guys - you'll get this message if you have drives shared and someone is browsing them.

Make sure sharing is turned off.

No sharing. No local networking. This is a stand alone PC hooked to the Internet via Comcast cable.
