involving replacement mobo not recognizing my XP1700+ chip and booting up as 1100mhz or so regardless of what clock setting it's on... one suggested flashing the BIOS but it is impossible to do so with Windows XP (using awdflash.exe)

You need to set the FSB to 133Mhz. Either in the Bios or with a jumper, just depends on the board.

I just figured it was in his profile or something since he was asking for help over aim. I would be glad to try to help.
