I play a little bit with a couple of my friends; we have a table on the first floor of our dorm. I'm not bad, but obviously would get my ass handed to me by anyone who plays even semi-regularly. It's a really fun game, great way to just chill after a day of classes.

I've been playing at least a few times a month at my apt building for the past 2 years. I just bought a house with a big basement and guess what's going down there? My own ping pong table. I see them on craigslist all the time for like $100. Very excited.

It's a good workout too, i had a little mini "tournament" with my friends and we were all exhausted after about 1.5 hours straight.

I love it. I'm sure my track record is pretty weighted towards the win side... from playing it a lot at parties, family get togethers, and just casual playing with friends. Almost everyone I know has a pingpong table or at least a pool table that can be covered and converted into one. I have a wicked spin-down serve that tricks people up almost every single time, and they usually get pissed when I use it, so I try not to.

I'm pretty bad player.

Anyone ever practice on a ping pong serving machine?

Its pretty tough as you can have the machine generate any type of spin.

I was pretty competitive, hopped around table-tennis gyms/parlors in NYC during my high school years. Never played in sanctioned tourneys for some reason.... my friend was holding me back :|

I used a cheap $30 Stiga hollow-handled paddle with Butterfly rubbers and imported 40mm Double Fish balls. I was quite fanatical about it.... but now I'm just a lazy sack of shi*t 🙁

wish I could, I used to alot, almost made the national team even 🙂

but when you fully reach puperty and start to get taller and taller table tennis becomes way too hard

what the heck is a 'spin down serve'?

You know that for the serve to be legal, you have to throw the ball up from an open palm and hit it after it's traveled at least 10 cm from your hand (and is no longer rising)?
