Why not 10hr days for 4 days and have a 3 day weekend? I feel like a slave as it is so screw it another 2hrs would not be that bad. Well yeah it would but it would all be worth if for the extra day.

Who else thinks that this is a good idea? but I'm thinking that so many things rotate around the 5 day work week that this might not work out well :/

Problem is employers would go with it at first then they'd slowly slip Friday back in. Pretty soon your working 10hours a day 5 days a week.

I'd rather have 8 hour days 2 days a week. But that's just me. I guess some people like to work more than others.

I worked 4 10's for several years on swing shift, that was pretty nice. worked 2:30pm to 12:30am, stayed up as late as I liked and slept as late as I needed. Never had to be a slave to an alarm clock. 3 day weekends are nice, but getting to be short now. Last year we shifted to a 3X4 12 hr shift. Now I work 6pm-6am, Tuesday - Thrusday and every other Monday. So now every other week I have a 4 day weekend, that is very nice. Thou 12 hr shifts take some getting used to.

Hate to tell you this, but the five day week was initially a labor reform. People used to have to commonly work six days (without overtime) a hundred years ago.

Matter of fact, many of us "professionals" still work far more than five days/forty hours.

Ditto. Makes me wish I was hourly wage instead of salaried (for the amount of overtime worked, I would make almost 2x what I am now).

My company does 4 10 hours days a week... its not fun.. very long... i'd much rather spend those 2 extra hours everyday sleeping or eating.

My summer work weed is 8-5 M-Th with 1 hour lunch and 9-12 on Friday.
Non summer hours are 8:30-4:30 with 1 hour lunch.

It's nice to only work 35 hours a week. I'm spoiled by it and will probably find it difficult
to work a standard 40 if I ever leave.

I don't think our company would allow a 4 day work week due to the types of things that we do. It would be nice though.

I currently work 4 10hour days and don't really like it. I leave to go to work around 6AM and get home after 6:30PM with Sat, Sun, Mon off. I don't seem to get any relax time at all in the evenings anymore and something simple like mowing the yard is now relegated to the weekend assuming I am home. Hopefully this fall I can get back to a regular 5 day work week.
