Primerica

Basically they advise you on how to invest your money in a simple, down to earth way. I was contacted by one of the recruiters to come to an interview next week and talk to them. They weren't looking for any sort of finance skills but people skills.

I just want to know if anyone has interviewed with them and has any information about what position they're trying to hire me for, which I think is for one of their financial reps. Or if they work with Primerica, that kind of info would be great also.

I specifically need to know about pay - as sad as it sounds, I barely make enough to live right now. I don't want to go into a job that bases their salary on commission because of all the uncertainty and I'd rather keep doing what i'm doing now. I just like keeping my options open.

They are a MLM and you only get commission on your sales after you have become a certified planner.

I know nothing about them, but am surprised by all of this negative feedback on a Citigroup company.

yes they are a pyramid (sp?) scheme... My woman got into that crap I kept telling her it's BS, finally when she got a check from them for $45 after 2 weeks work she finally saw the light... it's all commission based which you don't get paid commission till your certified, you don't get certified till you pay them like $500. And the only people you can contact (at first) are friends and family, they then have to refer you to other people.

WHAT?! I'm NOT paying 500 bucks to learn a skill for a job I was hired for!

People never understand - ANY job that requires you to pay money to the company in order to work = SCAM.

Certain jobs require training or certification, such as financial planning, but either training is paid for by the company OR a prerequisite to getting hired.

From what I know of it, you only pay them for your certification school. Costs $200 vs. lots at the local college. Also, my friend makes a lot of money at it. However, if you don't like to sell, its not for you.

There are many archive threads that tell you not to walk away, but run as fast as you can.

Yeah, a friend at work said he listened to a sales pitch once, but when he heard that you have to start by bothering your friends and family, he knew right then it was dumb.

If a friend told me he wanted to meet to discuss selling me something, I'd tell him to take a hike. What a joke!

searching groups.google.com would give you all the info you need to know.

It's MLM, you have to pay for training (I believe this training is no good anywhere else, but I am not sure), you have to get people under you to really make money.

Sure you can make money at it...but there are easier ways to do so.
