Who's handling the hurricane making machine now that Rove is gone?

Georgia is in desperate need of some water. Georgia mismanaged their water supply for years and the Army Corps of Engineers is killing us with releasing way more water than is required from Lake Lanier to help the endangered mussels down stream....35x too much last month. This is after they drained 1/3 of the lake last year because they weren't paying attention to what they were doing.

Officials are saying there's 3 months of water left in Lake Lanier...the only major reservoir serving Atlanta. C'mon Rove and Cheney...fire up the hurricane machine!

Severe drought here in the Carolinas too. I haven't watered my lawn for two months! The grass is a nice and crispy gray.

Too many people, too few resources.

I'm a Lake Lanier homeowner, and I absolutely loathe the mismanagement of the lake by the COE, but you overstated things a bit. First, they are releasing the minimum amount of water that's required by Federal law, so the blame there goes to the treehuggers. Second, I don't think they drained 1/3 of the lake last year...it ended up being about 2 feet of water. I don't know how that translates to gallons of water exactly, but I doubt it's anywhere near 1/3.

But yeah, we desperately need a few months of consistent rainfall.

Come on over to the west side! Allatoona is only 16 feet below level! I see that Athens will be going on rationing by November. Nice.
