Who's gotten a Hercules Prophet II GTS PRO 64@5ns faster than200/401?

I have that card, and am having problems with the 2D display giving me horizontal lines. What OS and version of the card do you have?

205/410... It's not stable with the core any higher than 205, but I haven't tried the memory at a faster speed yet.

No, I have a Princeton Ultra 71 17" monitor. I meant what revision of the board do you have. I heard over at HardOCP a few weeks ago that there were 2 versions of the Pro floating around, and one of them was having some display problems.

I don't know which version I have, but as far as drivers I have tried Nvidia's 631's, 650', 716's, 717's and I'm currently running the 1050's

200/400. Core absolutely will not do higher than 200 for some reason. Memory may go higher if I try.

Hercules GF2 GTS 64 meg.

I boosted mine to 210/416 for grins and giggles. It ran OK but I really didn't see any performance boost (like frame rates and 3DMarks) so I backed everything down to default settings. I'm currently running the latest drivers from the Hercules site (6.35). Has anyone seen appreciable gains with later NVidia drivers?

Hey all! Haven't posted in awhile, but this caught my attention. I also have the Hercules Prophet II GTS Pro 64, and I love it (Only had Voodoo cards up until this point)!

Anyway, I currently have my Vid card at: Core: 220, Mem: 433

I'm using the default cooling fan/heat sink that came on the card, but I do have a blow fan that sits in a slot (doesn't actually plug into the slot though) next to the vid card and sucks air away from card and out the back of my pc. I threw the packaging away for it, but I did get it from Compusa (maybe Antec was the brand?) for about 20 bucks.

Even if I underclock the core, I still can't get past 433 for the mem (overclocking mem is more important since that's the bottle neck usually....for all those who didn't already know that🙂

Right now I'm running a T-Bird 900 at 1.1 Ghz @ 1.775 V (changed multiplier to 10, and FSB to 110) with out any "active" cooling (I added a couple more fans to the case along with drilling some holes in various places....wife really liked me doing that in the family room 🙂 ) on an MSI K7T Pro2a m.b.

The reason I'm telling you this is because I used to be able to run the actual core of the vid card at 235 (with mem still at 433) when I had the my rig at 1.1 GHz using a 10.5 multiplier and FSB of 105 (but I needed to increase the V to 1.85 which I didn't like doing).

I have no idea why it won't do the same now...if anything I thought reducing the FSB speed would make it easier on the vid card and I would be able to overclock it even more...guess not though.

Anyway, if you don't want to buy any fans and you have an old case fan laying around you might want to try having it blow over the Back of the card and out the back of case. I mean the side without the heatsink/fan when I say back. Try touching the back of the card after running for awhile....gets WAY hot. That helped me out until I got this other fan from Compusa.

Even if you can't overclock it at all the card still rocks though!!! 🙂

Good Luck

Damn man...how did you get the mem cranked up that high? Are you using any extra cooling?
Are you using Nvidia drivers of the Herc drivers....cause I noticed that sometimes I could go above 433 with Nvidia drivers but not the Herc drivers. Have no idea why since I thought they were the same thing with just a diff graphic interface/logo.

The weird thing is when I did get my mem over 433, FPS in games actually got Lower! Think that is just a stability thing. Anyway, you're a lucky b*astard with those settings 🙂

Overman: It seems that before when you were running your core at 235, your FSB was at 105, and now that your FSB is at 110, you can only do 220 core. That would bear out the theory then that a lower FSB is better for overclocking the video card, since you had the core running faster (235 vs 220) at the lower FSB (105 vs 110).

I agree with ya on the core...but what I don't get is even when I was running a lower fsb, I still couldn't get (stabile wise anway) past 433 on the memory...no matter what my fsb was set at. So you're not using any extra cooling on the mem chips?
