Who's got the best warranty for video cards?

I'm planningmy next purchase. Will probably be either a 9600 or 9800 Pro card. I'm wondering what manufacturer's have the best warranty? I've heard from some that ATI's is very good. Just send them the card and they send a new one out. Any other manufacturer's to stay away from? How's Powercooler, MSI, Sapphire, etc?

yep, bfg has a true lifetime warrenty, PNY offers a lifetime warrenty but PNY's lifetime differs in that it is the lifetime of the product cycle. meaning, as soon as the card stops production, so does your warrenty.

well since ur asking for an ATI card, i dont know of any very good warranties, besides of course the listen above, BFG. But they dont make ATI cards =\

built by ati cards have a 5 year warranty, which is really plently for a videocard as in 5 years the things are pretty much worthless anyway.

STAY AWAY FROM HERCULES. They may make good cards, but their warranty blows. I tried to RMA my 8500LE, but they wanted the original receipt. BS, i've RMAed both an AIW Radeon and G400 over the years, as well as motherboards, HDDs, monitors, and who knowns what else, and have never been asked for the original receipt.

Very funny you should mention that. That's the exact reason for this thread I started.

I've had super luck with RMA'ing stuff in the past, until yesterday. A few months ago, I apparently had the wrong BIOS for my gigabyte motherboard (off by 1 letter) and I flashed a totally wrong BOIS. Gigabyte reflashed the board for me for $10, which included shipping. The board was out of warranty. Then, just last week I had my Creative Labs GF2 Ultra and my Jetway Mini-Q SFF systems go. Well, the Mini-Q is out of warranty, but Jet way is waiving the $25 handling fee and taking a look at the whole system. If it turns out to be the motherboard (which I know it is) it's only going to be $30 to reapir, and again, shipping back to me on the whole system is included.

Well, I tried to RMA the Creative Labs GF2, which I really do not think is 3 years old, but either way, they won't do jack without a receipt, which, of course, I don't have. So go figure. I'll now never buy another creative product again.

That's why I wanted to know about the warranties on cards these days, just cause it really can make or break a purchase. As sad as it is to admit, the GF2 Ultra has played everything I've wanted to. I wouldn't have minded another year on it, if Creative would have RMA'd it.

On a side note, I called ATI and they said they warranty refurbished cards for 3 years. I told the girl on the phone that I was considering buying a refurbished ATI card from newegg. I wonder if that 3 year warranty would hold up down the road? 🙂

Thanks for the replies anyone. I'll probably also keep my eye out for the BFG 5700U. I think that's suppose to be pretty close to the 9600Pro I was looking at. Not stuck on ATI by any means.
