I'm watching the game here in HDTV and am rather pleased with the picture, but it got me to wondering how much HDTV has penetrated the market.
Do you have HDTV?

umm, HDTVs are way outselling SDTVs right now.
Its the damned service that's too expensive.

Its not the TV that's too expensive...pretty much everything in the bigscreen category these days is HD-ready. Its the damned service that's too expensive.
It'll be worthwhile when ALL my channels are in 16:9 720p or 1080i andI've got an HD-DVR in my HD tuner...by then we'll have cheaper 65" flatpanels too.

I am not paying extra for my 4 channels of HD on my digital cable......
My HDTV service is free. I get all my local channels via an antenna in my attic. Including the HDTV programming.Originally posted by: uncJIGGA

Unless you're watching movies from cable or satellite, you're not getting HD.
Current DVD formats are not HD.

$1700 for a 55" 16:9 Mitsubishi? That's pretty damn good! Esp. when you consider people were forking over that much and more just a couple of years ago for analog 4:3 RPTVs!
