What do you guys think of it? I've got my MCI/Amazon GC to kill, and they have it here. They had the 830 earlier today, but I can't seem to find it now.

Got a question on it though. By the looks of it, it has a cover for the drives. Does this cover slide down, or open like a door? If it slides down, does it affect the intake fans on the fron at all? Let me know your experiences with this case!

Also, if someone has a link to Antec's site that has info on their cases, i'd appreciate that. If I go to Antec.com, I can't find any info on cases or PS's.

I love mine, even though it gave me a second-degree burn... only cuz i'm a dumbass and forgot friction=heat. :) I dremeled out the front lower grill so I could screw a 92mm fan to the front of the case. it was worth the work.

airflow is great with the case. even the 80mm in front of the hard drives (ever so convenient) has enough free space to create a good suction in front of the case.

this is a really killer case. trust me, you won't be dissappointed.

though, be forwarned-it isn't very big in terms of exterior slots. you only get 4 5.25" and 2 3.5". that just is not an issue with me because I've got a dvd, a cd-r, and am planning on picking up an ultraplex, but that's it. 3 bays filled. maybe I will pick up a baybus or livedrive, or possibly try to mount a usb hub in the other slot... no idea.

you have plenty of room, however, for multiple hard drives. I would probably max out with 3, but you have a LOT of room. the reviews will tell you more on this.

also, I remember reading a review where the guy had some trouble fitting things and being able to remove one of the 3.5" racks... he must have had long cards or something. don't worry too much about that.

well, here are a couple pix. they are lower quality because I did not feel like flooding my webspace with massive pix. about 38~40k each.

front2 front3

hope that helps. you just cut out a bit.

anyone think I can fit 2 92mm fans down there if I cut out the entire bottom section right there and just fab a panel to screw them into? it looks like a can... :) if I could figure out where to put the panaflo 120mm as exhaust, I'd do it in a hearbeat.

Jsmonet I've looked into this and this what I came up with. For the front you can use two 92mm fans in the stock locations. Just enlarge the holes out. Even the HD cage will fit over the 92mm fan if you remove the rounded edges on the top and bottom on that end. Two 92mm will fit in the rear but will be tight. I was going to do this and have one of the 92mm fans on the back have a duct to it from my cpu's heatsink. I haven't got around to doing this yet cause I've been busy. Just to let you know I'm currently running four Panaflo 80mm LA1s. My temps stay with in 1-2 deg F of the outside ambient temp.

I just bought my Antec 1030 case a few weeks ago and I love it. The thing is so spacious!!! I put the normal 80mm Antec fans in there, and the thing cools like a charm. I was surprised also at how quiet it runs for having 4 fan cases as well as a fan on the processor and video card.

Would I be able to fit 120mm fans anywhere in there? Just cuz I just bought 3 to go with my current case, but If I buy the antec, I'd want to use 1 or 2 in that case.

cool it fits! that was my plan, putting 2 92mm fans next to each other, but i wanted to see if it would fit height wise... the case description says it's 8.1 inches, and looking at my little measuring tape thingy, 8.1 inches is around 20.5 cm (205mm :D), so it should be able to fit 2 92mm fans. yay!
---
what i plan..(number = cfm)

Intake
2x92mm Panaflo L1a - 85.5
1x80mm Panaflo L1a - 24
Total - 109.5

Exhaust
Papst 120mm (5v) - 45
2x80mm Panaflo L1a - 48
ps fan - 30ish
Total - 113

the Reaper: thanx for the info. I'll have to try that. luckily it takes all of 30 seconds to take out that rack :) haha

about the sx being spacious.. it isn't BAD, but my old case had more free space. oh well, I don't care. this box is hella easy to use, and it IS a LOT more spacious than almost any other case of comparable size.

well, I just ordered a sx830 from ncix.com, hopefully it works out for me too. I hate when a minor upgrade suddenly turns into buying a whole new system hehehe.

The 1030x is the best case ive ever worked in.
Lots of room, the side panel just pops right off.
The drive rails are VERY VERY USEFUL. Ever screw a drive in and then realize you need it one bay up? Sucks huh?
Well thats eliminated.

I say its a good bang for the buck.
