NewEgg is sitting pretty with quite a stock pile of them. You think they aren't going to price gouge? You kidding me?
Newegg has no reason to gouge the prices. It's not good business sense

Online at Microcenter? Or somewhere else? I don't see that as an option?
Price for a 2500K and P8P67 Pro:
at MC: $360 (including MD state sales tax)
at NE: $422 (including shipping)
MC is only 15 minutes away from me, so gas was negligible. Total savings, $62. Instant gratification from getting them today. Priceless!
The 2600k sold out instantly at MC and the Frys that I went to in Dallas. Everyone else is saying both k's are selling like hot cakes everywhere. NewEgg is sitting pretty with quite a stock pile of them. You think they aren't going to price gouge? You kidding me?
Realize the difference for most people buying the processor at MC vs Newegg is significant. 30 dollars on the 2500k and 2600k. For people who are trying to squeeze every penny out of their system (which most people do) that 30 dollars is alot.
Why are you still here? Put that build together and overclock it asap! It's a deal, just not a sizzling deal.
Plus I'm so picky about what goes into my main PC, I couldn't take that board.
Ultra high demand, no one else has any, you are one of the few sellers that still has said product.
Yeah, and people didn't price gouge gas during Hurricane season either -_-
So this ultra hot deal is a savings of $34 and camping out in front of a MC? Lol
I think youre mistaking the initial rush of Anandtech board members for "ultra high demand"
I'll bet you'd have trouble finding any random person walking down the street who even knows what a "core i5 2600k" is?
I'd bet Newegg wont risk reputation issues for a couple quick bucks. They want to be THE place people shop and viewed as where you go to get a good deal.
Who said anything about camping out? I walked into the store, went to the pick up line, which is given priority over everyone else, and I was out 5 minutes later. Plus the $394 doesn't include shipping, which would have been $8 for me.
How would you classify all of the Microcenters being sold out of the K's ?I think youre mistaking the initial rush of Anandtech board members for "ultra high demand"

Youre lucky your MC was honest and didnt change the rules between 4:00am and 11:00am when they opened.
I still may get the chance to buy the CPU at MC in the next shipment, and when I play around with the salesman about buying a mobo and then dont at the last minute, I'll remind him that its because of their Sunday morning switcheroo. Jeez I sound so bitter....I guess to be fair all I did was type my credit card number on a screen in my pajamas.....not like I was actually waiting in line at the store and they pulled it from my hands.
And, of course, the results:

Can you tell me what the 3 pixels for the clock speed is supposed to be?
You have every right to feel bitter - you did everything you were supposed to and didn't get what was promised. I'd be steamed too if I was in your shoes.
I've really got to get started on building, but I'm on babysitting duty as the wife is upstairs sick. There's only so much TV a 5 year-old can sit still for.
Lol.....
Every Microcenter in TX sold out of 2600ks at 8 a.m. the second they put up their store. 2500ks are all sold out now within an hour of the store opening in Dallas, I dunno about in Austin and Houston.
How is that "initial rush"? That's ultra high demand at its finest.
We need a closer picture of cpuz![]()
