Who's getting a Gamecube?

There is not a single game the gamecube offered that I like. The Star War game (don't remember the name) looks nice, but not my kind of game. I think the Gamecube will be successful with kids and teens.

Maybe later... nothing really compels me at launch. Luigi's Mansion gets old fast (after an hour according to IGN Japan), Wave Race doesn't excite me too much, and nothing else is a must-have yet.

The RE series looks good, but again its pre-rendered backgrounds, and unless they balance the gameplay and fix the dasm controls then no thanks.

Rouge Leader does look great - but I'll wait to see.

I'm dissapointed in the new look of Zelda, but will try to keep an open mind.

Anyway, the GC holds the most chance with me of being my #2 home system. I'm thrilled with my PS2 and GBA right now, and very non-excited about the M$-Box...

I'm thinking about getting it (already have a PS2) because they seem to be going back to the old days of Super Mario Bros, Donky Kong, Zelda, and Metroid. I'll wait until around Christmas to make a decision.

I'm a diehard Nintendo fanatic but quite frankly I'm a little disappointed with what I've seen of it since E3. (Especially Zelda) I already pre-ordered one so I'm going to get one regardless - whether I actually play it or E-Bay it off for a little profit near Christmas has yet to be seen.

<< Luigi's Mansion gets old fast (after an hour according to IGN Japan) >>

I wouldn't take his word on that. I've read plenty of real gamers reviews and they seem to love it. Lemme get you a link...check the top post in this thread

From what I understand there is a "normal" Zelda coming sometime next year.

I will wait to see what games all the next-gen system have to offer before I buy. I don't see anything for the NGC or Xbox I would be willing to shell out cash for right now.

Bah, debuted to lackluster enthusiasm this weekend in Tokyo. The lines weren't long at all, and some retailers started selling them earlier than official release because they foresaw no supply problems with the low demand. No one really cares about it. I think the WTC put a lot of people into a bad mood, but still. This is Japan, and this is Nintendo. Looks like people are saving up for their Xbox....

I guess you missed the fact that they sold 300,000 at launch then. The day after launch was much bigger than launch day itself.

Well I be damned... looks like I didn't visit IGN the day after! Thanks for the update...

To tell you the truth, I figured most cubefans weren't gonna buy with only 3 games out...

Listen to you!:D
I'll bet you any money that 8 months from now you will:

A) be on your knees begging me for the gamecube
b)be on your knees begging me for the gatesbox

which is when I'll look at you and say: "Oh honey I'd love to, but you see, there's this little issue called children that for some crazy reason need food, shelter and a college education:confused:"

..Maybe if you're good and serve me breakfast in bed every day, I'll think about it;)

I don't know if I plan on buying any console right away, but if I did it would likely be the PS2 since I have so many PS gams to play on it and my PS is starting to go bad (excessive use - won't load some games). Definitely need a mod chip for that one....I'll probably end up buying the cube anyway...

Super Monkey Balls: The Fantastical Simian Testicular Adventure!

LOL!

I want to get the most intense, 4 player game of them all....Mario Kart. I love that kiddie game and I'm 23! Drinking beers, betting money with friends, can't beat it!

Skinner2 - amen to that! People still get together on campus with beer and play that in the wee hours of the morning. Amazing.
