Other than Anand and the original mods, who has been here the longest? Im here since 10/1999.

I know you didn't include mods and admins in your question, but I'm proud that Anand asked me to be the first AT Mod/Admin going back even before the FuseTalk forums to the old UBB software. My user account number is 6. Jason Clark was the first system admin. He wrote a lot of FuseTalk and set up the FT forums. His account number is 5, and my first co-admin/mod was Russ. His account number is 7. Those accounts and some others were set up during beta testing, before the official opening of the FT forums.

I'm not older than dirt, but we grew up together. 😉

And FWIW, Anand's account is under the name, Anand Lal Shimpi, and his account number is 200. Hey, Anand -- What took you so long? 😛

Yes, I am bored.

It's been awhile, but one thing this place has not left me is bored. 😎

I know my number is around 2000 and I was here before 1999. The mind gets a bit foggy nowadays.....Hell, I remember posting barefoot in the snow. Uphill! Both ways!

I can't believe that I only have 1600 posts in 12 years. Got to be a glitch in the matrix or something.

Peace

Lounatik

I think that I had a different user name before 2001, but I can't remember the password... I think that it was something like superbob or supremebob. 🙂

I've been here for quite some time. I know others (Harvey, etc) have been here longer. I was here several years before Fusetalk (late 90's or somewhere around there). I remember Harvey (and a certain Buy.com 19" monitor :biggrin🙂 and others well before I moved to this house in May of 1999.

I've only been around a few years, but my join date and post count got lost in the last move. At the time I was going to ask someone to fix it, then realized it wasn't worth typing out the two sentences.

Remember when Anand "discovered" the Abit BH6 motherboard & it's ability to overclock an Intel 300 MHz Celeron CPU to 450 MHz?
And: the deal web sites like ValueAmerica.com & "Flooz Bucks" on Flooz.com?

Where do you find the User acct number?
Mine should be a pretty low number too.

Yep, that's what got me here too, such fun squeezing out a decent performance from such a cheap setup IIRC a P2 450mhz machine was like $3-500 more than a celly based setup..

Yep, and i bought that config on his recommendation. The 300a hit 400 for me. Ah, the good old days. Chip is gone but i still have the mobo.

Your current number can be seen by holding your mouse over your username and looking at the link in the status bar. My current number is 687. Under FT, it was 1337. Don't know before that.

Been here a while but I actually joined in oct 99, not before. I heard about the forums through a co-worker/sys admin, and joined when they turned up the new site change.

I used to come here for General Hardware/CPU but now mostly OT.

I have noticed that those of us who were here since the BBS days all or most of us have a join date of Oct 1999. I think thats when things changed, am i right?

Yes. I was also on the original BBS. I joined in 98 I believe. But when they made the first big switch we all got 99 start dates. Its been a long time. I started following Anand when he was still doing testing in his bedroom, lol. At least that what nvidia said, 🙂. I believe it was nvidia..............

Whoever was here at the 1997 Geocities site probably.

EDIT: Wayback will take you to 1998's "BBS".

I don't recognize any of the names except some main site staff.
I've only been here since May 2005, though.

I see one of my posts on 1/3/98😛... it's been so long I cant remember when I first got on... I do remember Anand's dad buying his first two or three MB's to test though😉
