was a member back in the late 90's (mostly lurked) but lost my password (my username back then was slacker which is now taken by someone else). @Engineer - i remember the buy.com ordeal where they sold a 19" CRT for a price that was a typo ($150 was it?)

Something like that. I bought one and they charged me and then gave a refund because they didn't have enough. I guess a few *cough* got them! :p

Your current number can be seen by holding your mouse over your username and looking at the link in the status bar. My current number is 687. Under FT, it was 1337. Don't know before that.

Wow did not know that thanks

Higher than I thought it would be.

I came here to sell some stuff in 2002, never lurked or knew of AT before that....except a few reviews.

Wow, I was...14 at the time....I put $40 cash in my mail box, and the guy came by while I was at school and dropped off the CPU ... in hindsight, that was a really bad way to do the transaction.

The low numbers went fast if I remember because they brought up the new sight at the time and you had to re register..... for the last time. On the old boards I remember them going down a couple times and having to re register.

Hot Deals was so much fun back then
That's when I showed up...a college friend told me about it. I don't recall what month I started lurking, but it was a while before I joined... probably November/December 1999. I remember a lot about those busy months....and the summer before them.

I used to bid for computer stuff on egghead.com and used slickdeals.net, bigbigsavings.com, and AT Hot Deals to stretch my college earnings.
