Just wondering how many fans realise that an announcement was made some weeks back that Enterprise is finishing at the end of the current (4th) season.:(

Just as the show is getting blindingly good (4th season has been brillant so far) they go & cancel it :(:|.3rd season was pretty damn good too!.

If any fans want more info about it & want to help try to save it then LMK & I'll chuck in some links.

Btw out of the ST fans ,what do you think of ST Ent so far?

(how is this related to DC? ,well its spaced based ,as are some DC projects:p;))

I didn't care for the first few seasons but what I have seen of this year has been much better. Guess it was too little too late.

How about a "distributed" effort to save enterprise?

I have *NO* idea how much it costs to make a single episode, but perhaps we could pull something off like Stephen King. Have people donate money to a producing group, and once x dollars are donated, release an episode. Maybe via BT in 1280x720 HDTV with DD 5.1 ac3 audio, and also via a very low budget DVD mail out to the people who don't have broadband... something like a single disk in a paper sleeve in an envelope type thing. We could charge for advertising on the website, maybe find a host to donate some bandwidth... It could be a tv revolution :) No commercials, no set 60 minute (or 41 minute... whatever) length...

I've actually been thinking a lot about this in the past few days, but I just don't have any numbers to work with here.

Big Star Trek fan & liked most of the spin-offs but have never seen an episode of Enterprise. It's not on in my location.

I download them from the newsgroups. I'm usually at work when they come on.

There is already a distributed effort to save Enterprise in the works.
They are taking donations and there is a place to sign (a petition).

Personally I couldn't stand DS9 but all the rest of the Trek's were & are great.

I'll look up the link to the info & report back here. ;)

I've been a Trekker since my very early days. "Enterprise" was a bit hard to follow with this whole Xindi thing going on - basically a waste of two seasons IMHO. They should've followed a bit closer to the early history of the pre-Federation which has been available in books and scripts for decades - more than enough material to produce episodes from that alone.

"DS9" was slow-moving at the beginning but gradually picked up speed and interest; "Voyager" was the same way.

My main sci-fi interest has been "Stargate: SG-1" I have way more episodes of SG-1 than of any of the Star Trek episodes.

I loved the original

later I grew to love tng

Voyager was really good

DS9 was ok but got really old quick

I only got to see a few enterprise episodes but liked it.

I have played the board game as well as the role playing game

at 1 time I built the models of the enterprise and shuttles lol

One I built had the windows removed from the plastic and lights mounted inside, it was pretty cool.

ah those were the days lol

Well, since the show is being canceled, The producers must think the show has no value. We could pool together....buy out the production.....throw in a few of our own characters like, Amdxborg, Assimalator1, Wiz, Spacehead, and maybe we could even get Engineer to take a role. :p

All kiding asside. Sci-fi, anyway you look at it is beter than this reality TV crap and all these sitcoms......they just don't seem to do it anymore.

What happened to Magnum PI or Jeffersons and the like........It just isn't the same. Now its what bimbo will the bachelor pick or how much DNA fell down in the cracks of the floorboards. Its just cheap TV ....just like walking into Walmart and buying socks that shrink too small the first time you wash 'em. There just isn't any quality or quanity in TV anymore.

JMHO :disgust:

Then again, this is probably not such a bad thing since some folks such as myself really need to get out a bit more, excercise a bit and get healthier, so a lull in good TV production may not be such a bad thing. ;)

Preaching to the choir, Soggy.

On that note, I'm sad to see the show go.

I cannot get over Scott Bakula in the role. I can only picture him in his old "time traveling" role (don't remember the name, but watched it a lot).
I did definitely like the Vulcan science officer (she was no "seven of nine") and the premise, but never got into it. Perhaps I'll catch it in syndication or Spike TV.

I'll miss it, hopefully the Sci-Fi channel will get a chance to take it over....every sci fi show I've ever loved and watched from the pilot, has been taken by them. (andromeda, stargate, babylon5, etc.)

The original series is still my favorite. In descending order, my next favorites are probably DS9, Enterprise, and then Voyager and TNG tied for last place. I like the fact that they decided to finally try to make Enterprise tie-in with the rest of the ST universe instead of making it an alternate-history stand-alone. Anything after the original series is still revisionist-history ST though, as Zephram Cochrane, the creator of the Warp Drive, was from Alpha Centauri. Guess the later writers just couldn't picture a future where all of the major scientific breakthroughs were not made on Earth.

lol ;)

Good to see this has generated quite some interest :)

I see Wiz has linked all the sites I had in mind;)

Personally whilst I liked the original ST I find that ALL the latter ones are better in all aspects for the most part.
Re Bakula ,funny whilst I did see him in Qunatum leap on the occasions I watched it ,when I see 'Captain Archer' QL just never crosses my mind ,he's just such a different character.

NWM
The Xindi story went on for 1 season not 2 & it was a kick arse story;):p

They should've followed a bit closer to the early history of the pre-Federation
In that case you'll love most of the 4th season as thats exactly what they are doing & its damn good:)

I also like SG1 & SG Atlantis;)

ICXra
You mean you've missed ST Next Gen ('87-94)Deeep Space 9('92-99),ST Voyager ('95-01) & ST Enterprise('01-05)? then you've missed the very best of Star Trek!:Q

Here's hoping that ST Ent will get at least 1 more season ,can't wait to see the birth of the Federation:)

I haven't seen any episodes of Enterprise, but I always like watching episodes of TNG and TOS when they're on Spike or Sci-fi. I've never liked DS9 much, and I've never really seen any episodes of Voyager either. Maybe I'll try to see when they're on some time, but computers are way better than TV anyway.
