At the subscriber log-in page, the AnandTech banner isn't showing up at the moment. Interesting new front-page design, looks nice! :)

I just updated my systems rig page to reflect the new mobo in my wife's pc. All 3 of my systems are showing Windows_NT as the operating system. They used to read Win XP Home. Even if I change it, they default back to Win NT. Hmmm. I haven't looked at that page since my last upgrades about a month ago, but it was correct then. May have nothing to do with the new facelift.

The system rigs changing to "Windows_NT" thing has been happening to me for about two weeks (at least that's when I noticed it; it may have been happening before that) before the redesign, so afaik they're not related.

Concerning the new design: I like most of it, especially the new Team AnandTech link in the sidebar, but IMHO the main page could be a bit longer. ;)

Also, the fixed width nature of the layout (not the layout itself) just royally sucks. I usually have a screen res of 1600x1200, but my browser windows are more like 850x1000, so I can see more than one page at a time. Having to maximize my browser just to see a web page without horizontal scrolling is a pain. I think it's fine to optimize for 1024x768, but please, at least make it work on lesser resolutions, even if it doesn't work well. :frown:

its nice but I have an issue to report......I get horizontal scrolling bars which are really irritating....methinks it must be a small minor coding issue..other than the site is a perfect 10!....props to you Anand and your design team.

I also like it. In fact i think it is one of the best designs out there without being huge and bloated.

My only quibble is the huge blue area for adverts with tiny ads in them or sometimes no ads.

Thanks for the great placement of the Team Anandtech link! Everyone in the DC forum is very happy to see it without needing to scroll down.

I really like the new page. My only dislike is the bar on the right, seems a bit too wide. And the color for the bar on the top where the ads are is too weird, I'd prefer a lighter blue--especially when their is no ad in that space, it just looks weird. Other than that, way to go, looks and feels a lot better, IMO.

I'll be the dissenting opinion, other then the improved colour scheme I think it's much worse then the previous layout.
That may simply be a matter of reluctance to accept change, or being to accustomed to the previous layout however... my opinion may change given time.

I really like the ability to l;eave comments to news posts without directly accessing the forums, that's one significant improvement.

I like it, however, I would prefer it if it scaled to width better. Even at 1280x1024, i'm still losing 1/4 of the screen to that dark blue down the side :(

Also, could it be possible for the Team AT to read Team AnandTech? Or maybe AT Distributed Computing? Just a couple of ideas.

I think that make that right hand bar about 50 pixels smaller, and have it make more advantage of the width, and it will be an even better design. I really like it now, but doesn't use the width properly :) I bought a 19" monitor so i can run at a higher resolution, and not need to use the scroll wheel too much on the web, but I am now having to ;)

Thanks Zuni et al :)

That color behind the add is horrific. A lighter color would be much more appealing. The brightness of that color doesn't match the rest, it is hard on the eyes, and it makes me want to puke.

Also about the width thing, make it scale or make it thinner. I do run at 1024 x 768 but I keep my IM window open at the side. I'm sorry but I do have more than one thing going on and with the site set up like this I don't see it taking long before I start ignoring the news section.

Just some suggestion. I hope they can help make the site better.:)

Oh yeah and if we could get it changed from "Team AT" to "Team Anandtech" that would be great. People might understand what is meant by it better that way.;)

The team at link will probably stay as is guys there is no way that AT Distributed Computing is going to fit, it works and says what it needs to.

So "Team AnandTech" wouldn't fit, either? :)
