most of you probably won't care, but it might amuse some of you... besides i feel like rambling 
so i'm supposed to meet a friend tomorrow, we'll call her jane. i couldn't get a hold of her, so i was going to wake up at 8 and give her a call to figure things out. fine... except i can't get to sleep. so i go and finish up watching "history of the world, part 1" and try to fall asleep. by now it's around 4.
i hear a beeping sound. damn alarm clock... but no... it's not my alarm clock, it's my cell phone. it's 4:15. i answer it, and it's another friend, we'll call her susan. susan is much too perky for 4:15 in the morning. she wants to know if i want to go to the beach with her tomorrow. i haven't seen susan forever, so i agree, but i tell her that we'll have to make it quick, because i'm seeing jane later. so we decide to meet at 7... which means i'll hate to wake up at 5:30 or so. eh, that's alright, i still have an hour of sleep left.
so i lay in bed again, trying to fall asleep. just when i fall asleep again, my cell phone rings. it's now 4:45. susan is calling to remind me to call her so that she won't sleep in. i yell at her a little more and try to get back to sleep.
beep beep. my cell phone rings again, just as i'm falling asleep, at 5. susan wants me to bring a sweater for her in case it gets cold.
i gave up trying to sleep at that point... i decided it probably wasn't meant to be. so now i'm just trying to pass the time away until i take a shower and leave. starbucks here i come...
