So? Put in all the illegal mods you want, just dont put some ridiculous stickers or giant spoiler.

Legitimate mods = no harassment. Tacky obnoxious sh!t = harassment.

They could pull over a minivan with an AAA sticker if you gave them the wrong look.

Drivers of stock vehicles that come from the factory with some of the characteristics of modified cars have experienced harassment under this provision. One such motorist complained on an enthusiast website that the Calfiornia Highway Patrol was using these programs to make "driving while Asian" a crime, pointing out that the department's own website has several pages dedicated to Asian involvement in street racing and "vehicle modification."

I think it's pretty obvious which cars are modified from the factory and those which aren't. I am all for it. I wish they would do this here in Illinois.

Imagine the surprise when a cop pulls over some riceboy because of the triple decker spoiler and giant VTEC sticker on the rear window. He opens the engine compartment, and is shocked to find a stock Honda engine without VTEC. The riceboy is then sent on his way.

Ironic isn't it? The people who get pulled over for this are the ones WITHOUT "illegal modifications" on the engine

There are a lot of other things that cops will be looking for. For example, how low it is to the ground, non-street legal lights, modified mufflers etc.

True, except the exhaust mods should count somewhere in there. But the point is true, these guys say they want to cutback on street racers when the ricers aren't the ones racing, its moreso the v8's in CA. This is a bugdet crisis move, thats all.
