I've been looking forward to this night for a while now to try my hand at some fireworks shots. During my city's 25 minute display, I managed to snap about 70 shots. I even quit shooting and enjoyed the last 5 minutes, because I figured if I had gotten anything good by then, I needed to quit trying.
Well, after taking a look at all the shots, I may have more than a few that will turn out pretty decent. Some of them will require some photoshop work to remove power lines, but that's only a few minutes worth of work. While I'll have to wait a couple of days to actually start processing them, here is one quickie that is basically straight out of the camera, only adjustments were made to curves to make the black more black, and that's it, nothing else.

I will most likely go back and remove the smoke in the lower-left corner later, but I just wanted to share!
EDIT: Forgot to mention this was shot with a D50 and the 18-55 kit lens at f/13, 10 second exposure. I simply used my hand over the barrel to remove the upwards trails of the fireworks flying into the sky.
