So my friend randomly mentions that he is looking for a new tv to replace his tiny 13" :)

I immediatly went into HD mode and began looking everywhere for the best deal. After a full day of shopping, we went to Circuit City and I began the art of haggling. The manager was extremely nice about the whole thing, which is very suprising and was willing to give us 15% off because of Best Buy's sale and another 50 bucks off because of the chair BB was including for free. He ended up geting a 32 inch Samsung HDTV set and paid just over 700 for it.... not too shabby for a $1000 set. I feel very proud of myself :)

When I looked at the title I saw HD, and I thought Hard-Drive, then you said master, and I was going to post "Nice pun :)"

Blasphemy!

Wait until RossMAN hears of your self-exaltation! :Q

Although, instead of sending you to the fiery pits of Ferengi Hell, you'll probably only be banished to Purgatory for a few weeks since you did indeed find a hot deal. ;)

Not to toot my own horn... But i picked up a 35" Sony TV about 2-3 years ago for $579 from Sears when it was still selling everywhere for $999... :)

Man, the salesman almost had tears in his eyes :)

The tough thing was geting the damn thing up the stairs... it took 6 of us to get it up his steep stairs. The tv is SUPER sharp, and looks freaking awesome using component output from his dvd player. He was thinking of geting a 32" Wega for about 480, normally 750, but this one caught his eye and would be great in the future when HD is readily avaible.

Now its off to Costco to see what kind of deal I can pull there, and then to Staples to get the old paycheck :p

Sound Advice down in Ft. Lauderdale was clearancing out their Sony Stock and mispriced it in their weekly ad in the newspaper... It was supposed to read like $929, not $629 as it stated in the ad (dont remember the exact number anymore). Took the ad to sears AFTER i made the purchase for $999 - 10% off for using their card, and pricematched it down a good $400 or so :)

FYI, i didnt know it was a misprice until my dad went over to Sound Advice to pick himself up the tv... He called me later that day. Luckily they had a stupid ass manager who approved the transaction without calling :)
