For the next four years, incoming freshmen will be required to take AlcoholEdu, an online alcohol awareness course, UCLA announced Wednesday.

...
According to a 2002 Ashe Center survey, about 21.9 percent of UCLA students participate in heavy drinking, defined as five or more drinks in one sitting in the past two weeks, compared to national averages, which are in the 40 to 45 percent range.

That's not heavy drinking! Unless you Americans have like 1L beers, or something..

DUMB.

"You know, I was thinking about chugging one more beer... but according to a class I'm taking that will increase my chances of suffering alcohol poisioning by 32%... I'll have a c oke instead..."

Fixed.

Heavy drinking to those people must be a glass of wine with dinner. The bible belt is the worst for not wanting alcohol around....and I live in the middle of it.

I remember back when I drank more, I had a nice tolerance built up so 4-5 drinks was nothing. I may not be light, but I'm a lightweight now. 😉 It's about 2-3 drinks and I'm buzzing already. The bright side is, at least it's cheaper. 😀

I took alcoholEdu last year as a freshman at northwestern. Pretty boring, and as far as I can tell not terribly effective.

For an incoming freshman who's never had a drink before that's enough to make someone puke 😛

Dude, when I was in highscool it was like 70% of the school probably "binge drank" atleast every other weak, a slightly smaller percentage every week.
In college it's like 85% "binge drink" almost every day.

21%.....? :laugh::laugh::laugh:

If I had that class I would make it a point to be well on my way to drunk before each session. :laugh:

Appalachian State University.
It is known for being a party school though.

I'm pretty sure AlcoholEDU is just a course you do online. I had to do it my freshman year at Villanova and although it is easy... it was a total waste of two hours. Plus, no grade....
