Dude. Just. Fucking. Stop. Your comment is asinine.

The F-35 and F-22 aren't mean to be 'fighter' aircraft. Never really were, never really will be. They are meant to be a connected weapons platform that utilizes information from multiple sources to hit other aircraft from distance. To take out defenses who don't know they are there. This has been stated over, and over, and over again. These planes are packed with avionics and electronics far beyond what the F-16's and F-15's carry, and THAT is their primary advantage. Not their guns, or their missles. They are meant to connect with ground control radar systems, early warning aircraft, drone telemetry, satellite imaging, and dozens of other conduits of information to give their pilots the ultimate advantage.

If you don't get it, fine. Move on. Just stop embarrassing yourself.

I understand what you're saying but why are they bragging about a kill ratio?

They have had to ground the plane in past tests or shows because it was cloudy, windy, rainy, etc. The Dutch government preordered a whole bunch when it joined the project. So what the hell should we do with planes that cannot in the weather that we have 95% of the time here? If you are attacked on a rainy day do you think the enemy will give in if you ask them to come back another day because your extremely overpriced bricks can't get airborne?

I'll say it again. Just STOP. Are you referring to when it didn't fly in a demo because there was flooding and they canceled it? Or perhaps the report in 2013 where the military hadn't yet done multi-condition testing? Seriously. You are parroting stupidity and propaganda. You don't declare a squadron combat ready if can't fly in the rain or in cloudy weather. Stop being a sheep and do your own research.

those were temporary restrictions, they don't apply to the final product

the f-35 is fully capable of operating in all weather conditions

Cause it's a good soundbite I expect. But in reality, since both sides probably had similar support (unless the F-15/F-16's were simulating other nation's capabilities) it's also a fairly good measure of comparative ability.

We have ordered quite a few for our aircraft carriers (uk) but we dont see any untill 2020 or something like that, we have typhoons for RAF land based engagements, pretty decent in dog fights.

unless their anti-jamming defeats our jamming but then we would turn on our anti jamming jamming system and then all would be right in the world again...
