Whohoo! Six DELL Dimension 4550 computers that I ordered have 2.0GHz chips with C1 stepping! :D

You know what I'll be doing 😀 I was really looking forward to these chips as I intend to run them at 150MHz FSB for 3GHz with a massive bandwidth 😀

dell still has almost no options for overclocking right?
or have they started to not strip bios's?

or are you exchanging the cpu's with other ones lol (i would heh)

Yeah I am interested in this one my self!!!! dells have been historically poor ocers do to the options available....

See bold, above. I'm assuming he means to swap out these C1-stepping chips for lesser-stepping chips of the same speed and either return the PCs or pass them along as "new and untouched."

If I am mistaken, I apologize; but you must admit, the verbage quoted is pretty damning. 😉

Oh. You can't overclock a DELL. They have no options in the bios for a reason.

Of course, I won't overclock the Dell. What I'll do is to take the the chips from Dell, put them in my system, see which one overclocks the best, keep that one and substitute it with another 2.0Ghz chip that I'll buy from the Internet.
