Thank you. :)

I drive a small car (Jetta) and as small car drivers know, at night when a pickup comes up behind you at a stoplight the headlights are the perfect height to flood the interior with light. Its like the Second Coming of Jesus happening inside your car, with Heavenly Light just pouring in. Madness.
Anyways, I'm at the light and see a big pickup coming up behind me. Oh joy I think, I needed to work on my tan.....
He gets about 1 carlength from me and turns off his headlights....

At first I think I'm about to get jacked, but it would be tactically unwise to alert the would be victim. Soon as the light turns green and I get about a car length in front of him he turns his lights back on. I roll down my window and waved back at him.

Nicest thing anyone has done (traffic wise) in a long time.

So, to whoever you are....Thank you. :)

Good to hear stories like that. Usually only horror stories come from the road.

When I was a truck driver I used to like getting really close to someone with the brights on. Had to do something to break up the borningness (new word) and keep me awake.

What's the story with your new home???

thats awesome

makes me feel bad for driving a slow zig zag pattern in the last quarter mile of 2 lane before construction related lane reduction (got sick of people passing and merging at the end of the lane)

That pisses me off to no end. I've been known to ride the white line just so people cant pass. Its rude and dangerous to haul ass trying to beat 10 people so you can wait in line like the rest of us. Not only that, but your hauling ass then braking crazily slows me down even more.....

Of course if both lanes just calmly proceeded to the merge point and alternated merging that would have been the most efficient use of the available pavement but we can't tolerate that.

Maybe the guy in the big pickup is a professional truck driver. They're a thoughtful group of road users. No one else thinks to dim their high-beams when overtaking a bicyclist from the rear on a pitch-dark country highway IME.

Usually those idiots just sit there and stroke their tiny little dicks while they blind you. Kudos to the one person in a lifted truck who actually has some courtesy. I've yet to encounter one.

I believe considerate drivers engaging in random acts of kindness is the 4th sign of the apocalypse.
