The thing is useless. It's so stiff it's an all or nothing game and for most purposes acts just like a d-pad if not worse.

Well it does well for what it is. How good can you make an analoge stick on a portable system without it sticking out.

I always thought that they maybe could have made one that somehow pops out.

I agree, they should've just given it a good d-pad or a real analog stick, like the Neo Geo Pocket.

I always felt they should have went with the indention way. Make it like sort of like the xbox 360's d-pad but just have it totally rounded out and sunken in a bit more then just have it flush with the system with room around it for movement.

Your thumb would rest right inside it and it would be more comfortable imo. Would also eliminate having anything stick up. Since the stick itself doesn't need to be long at all have it sunken it wouldn't be a problem if designed right with with the groove the top would have. Just need to have grooves on the top or have it topped with the rubber material used on top of current analog sticks on controllers.

Sounds like that's an issue you'll have to take up with game designers. They are the ones who program the sensitivity of the stick for their game.

They should have made it so you could pop the actual stick part of it out. That way, you could use a bigger stick when you were at home, but keep the smaller one for portable gaming on the go.

Yea all these things would be great, Cost asside,, you're suggestions would require too many small parts. That means something's gonna snap, especially with the way average gamers mash into the controllers
