I have just rewritten with the new file. But now when I start my GPS and press ok on the first screen. An hourglass shows and doesn't go away. It doesn't seem to go forward.

Anyone else had a similar problem.

That would be great (limewire idea) if you could do that. Or maybe you cold send it to me??

Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if my new vista computer needs a different wrar program or something? I've noticed many say there getting the same results as me when trying to join the 2 files but nobody has posted if and how they fixed it. Or maybe they just gave up???

The file is too big to send you via e-mail. It's about 193Mb. I'll see if it can uploaded to limewire.

I placed the 6 Million POI file for uploading on Limewire. The name of the file is 6M-US48_POI.POI

Do a search using "Magellan 6 Million POI's (188.8 MB)"

I just received from Costco the 3225. I ordered it based on Costco's website image which clearly shows that the 3225 has a headphone jack just above the USB port. The 3225 I received from Costco in the blue pack has no headphone jack in the area shown on Costco's website. Has there been more than one version of 3225, or is this a case of Costco using the image for a different unit which actually has a headphone jack? Without the headphone jack, this is worthless to me, as I cannot use it on my motorcycle or pipe the anemic TTS through my car stereo. The picture on the Costco package is hilarious, in that it depicts a suave man cruising down the road with his 3225 mounted in his top-down convertible. I guarantee he won't be hearing the TTS from the 3225 in his top-down convertible unless he had a headphone jack to go to his car stereo!

The point I was trying to make is that the picture for the 3225 on the Costco website shows a headphone jack (with a symbol of a headphone) right next to the USB port. But on the 3225 unit I received, there is nothing at all next to the USB port, antenna or otherwise.

I've been using the 3225 since last XMAS. It was a gift purchased from Costco. The packaging was different from what you described, there is a female threaded connector on top of the unit for an external antenna (even though no antenna is sold by Magellan) and there was no CD as some other board members have mentioned.

Although the 3225 is excellent (even travelling to small Canadian cities), customer support is completely absent. I e-mailed a question to them about battery replacement many months ago and never received a reply.

For $10 more ($89.99) I see the 3250 (refurb) at TigerDirect (as of Sat 11/29). It comes with the 6M POI, AAA Tourbook, live traffic capability, Bluetooth and other stuff. It -may- also have a headphone jack. That I'm not sure of since I have the 3225 which despite pictures indicating it has a headphone jack, does not.

Refurb units (at least from TigerDirect) come with the same 1 year warranty as those sold as new.

I have a Magellan 3220 with the 6million POI file. Could I just copy and paste it to the 3225 and be good? Thanks in advance.

There seems to be a lack of POI files available for Canada, the largest and newest I can find is
16.9MB from 2007. Did Magellan not update the Canadian POI's with the 2008/2009 update? Can anyone who has this update please check... please post these files if you have anything newer?

Canada_poi.poi

Thanks LM

Hi folks,

I am interested in the same questions that <CJT has asked above ...

Q1: Has anyone tried out the New Magellan 3225 F/W? Do we need to upgrade existing FW?

Q2: Does anybody have the 2009 Map Update?

Q3: Using 2009 Map update ... does it crap it our 6 Million POI mod?

Since there has been NO Answer in the past 2 months I am Not holding my breath for one now ... but you never know! ;)

Thanks,

G! :)
