I was wondering, if you have the 768, 1.5, or 3 Mbps connection?

My original plan was the 1.5 Mbps, but I heard they upgraded to 3.0 Mbps, called them several times and they keep saying that the loopback tests dont qualify me for 3 Mbps.

It's all dependant on distance/ signal quality, so in fact you may think that you are ellidgeble for 3.0mbs but are not aware of the physical limits of DSL.

I think it has alot to do with lazy teir one & two reps. When verizon dsl first came out years back, we didn't even qualify. Dad pulled some strings & got it to us anyway. We were getting 384/64 when the plan was 768/128. Two years later our area still didn't qualify. Once our are started getting service, we couldn't seem to get up to the standard speed. We would call every month or so, trying to get an answer. I even looked on dsl reports, & it showed we had a new CO installed pretty close by. When I mentioned it, they we dumbfounded as to why I wasn't gettting better service.

Finally, about six months ago, I called, & out of the blue the guy said it was no problem & he'll switch me right over. I got to 768 within 10 minutes. I called back again about the 1.5-3.0 & I got another run around. About a month later I got a woman who said we should be getting at least 1.5 & that I even qualify for 3.0.

I went from 384 to 768 to 3.0 because I was lucky enough to get a rep that wanted to help. All the "too far from the CO", "you're going from fiber to copper & back", "you'll have to check with billing", was all bullsh1t.

I've got 768, but I just found out that I'm paying $39.99 a month; I've had this plan for years and they obviously never informed me that I could get more speed for the same amount of money.

I'll be giving Verizon a call shortly to see if I'm eligible for the 3.0.
