I was at Future Shop (Best Buy type store in Canada) today and wanted to pick up Children of Men on HD DVD. When I picked it up and looked at the price, I was greeted by this:

Are these jackasses out of their fscking minds?!? $55 for a movie? Needless to say I walked out of the store without buying it.

I guess they figure that since you'll inevitably copy it at least once, they'd better charge you for two copies, just to be safe.

What a rip off. I would never spend more than 20USD on a movie, and I think 20 is on the high side.

$55 CAD is $47.50 USD. I'm pretty sure even MSRP is below this. The regular DVD, by comparison sells for $24 CAD.

Great movie but.. Um.. Rent it...Tell netflix you lost it.. Just kidding, that's very unethical (shame on you for thinking my joke was more than such!). But, yeah.. Anything more than $30 is absurd in my opinion.
