Anyone ever try Picasa 2 for Digital photos? Man this program ROCKS and it's free.

The interface is streamlined and the slideshow rocks. Check it out. I wish I would have discovered this earlier.

Is it just me or does this program rock? This is a ALL in ONE program.

No I'm not an employee of the company.

It does but it's confusing for me in how it handles stuff.

Try Hello.com as well.

2 is better than 1, but there are some better programs out there.... although it does well for the simplicity

Wow that's alot of pictures, I mean 5,000+ pics of "Amber Evans" only takes up about 700MB on my HD.

It sucks. I keep pics on a local server and Picasa can't handle it. Freezes, crashes etc. (and this over wires, not wireless)

So what benefits does Picasa really offer if I already have my pictures named intuitively and all stored in one place and already have good photo-editing software? I've never used it before and am reading the tour and not seeing anything overly exciting.

Well I have good photo editing software too (Adobe), But If I want to edit a picture I have to spend time opening photoshop, apply the filter, Blah Blah Blah. It takes time, Picasa works on the fly, Super fast, give it a try you'll see what I mean.

Plus it has tons of features, Slideshow, Screensaver, Editing, Batch renaming, Batch Editing, Sharing, CD creation, Back Up, Timeline.

Plus it Scrolls through the pictures very smooth and it's just a nice looking program and it's FREE.
