Does anyone have this card and when did it come out? I was just looking at ChiefValue and bam, there it was!

Wow, the EVGA site doesn't even have it listed there!

Anyways, it appears that a lot of sites have the card. Looks like its pretty new.

What does it mean when it only supports "Software SLI" and not "Hardware SLI" ?

No hardware SLI must mean it's missing a SLI bridge connector (which it is). It can work if you use bridge-less (bandwidth disadvantage) SLI. No clue what a 7600GTS is.

It looks like it has the SLI bridge connector to me.. Look at the backside photo of the card.

looks like its a sped up 7600 GS. Not as fast as a 7600 GT, and it doesnt have dual DVI like the GT. But its faster clocked than a GS with similar features.

:Q Didn't see it until I saw the third pic. It was hidden by that sticker thing in the first two.

What does it all mean then?

The sticker that was blocking the SLI bridge connector says WARNING on it. But it does have a connector. But it can't run Hardware SLI. So...Maybe its a crippled 7600GT that just can't take advantage of the SLI bridge connector. Looks like a pretty sweet card!

it's got the same clockspeeds as a non-overclocked 7600gt 560MHz on the core and 700MHz on the memory

This card is not on their site, either (EVGA).

I emailed them wanting to know how this fits in between the 7600GS and the 7600GT.

I also wanted to know what the power supply requirements were for the 7600GTS.

Yes, I know. Read my first post :D

The power supply require is probably the same as the GT/GS. 300 or 350 watts will do.

7600GTS is a made-up name for a product that already exists. A poorly chosen one at that, because Googling it will mostly bring up people talking about 7600GTs (ie GT in plural). Galaxy has had a 7600GS out for several months in some markets with the same 500/1400 clock speeds, with a nice Zalman cooler. Here?s a review.
http://www.digital-daily.com/video/galaxy-7600gs/

And here?s a review on the Inno3D GeForce 7600GST (another varation on GS/GT) which is also 500/1400. The Far Cry benchmarks don?t look right though. It should not perform the same or slower than a GS, with a GT being nearly 50% faster at one resolution.

Looks like it has a DVI output as well as RGB. So where does it say it has only analog output.

Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you all saying that it does not have SLI capability because of the front pic that has a sticker over the SLI connector????? Or becase it actually says that it does not support SLI somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I think Newegg screwed up the specs. The pic shows one DVI and one RGB connector. But the specs say 2 DVI. I think they have the wrong spec sheet for this card. Or other things wrong. Like the price.

They are probably reading the single review posted for the card, which is from a guy that doesn't even own the card.

It's probably just a card without dual DVI and default clock speeds.
7600GTS(tock) ;)

That's what I think. I just wish some more brainpower would be excercised in here. For example, at least look at all the pics instead of looking only at the front pic for 4 nanoseconds and deem the card SLI incabable.

I'm curious if eVGA has responded yet. This card just seems like a stock 7600GT without dual DVI that is designed to be cheaper to compete with ATI's upcoming refreshes (X1300XT and X1650pro).

The price is killer, and my friend is going to need to do a huge overhaul on his aging AXP 2500+ system. Going to a cheap A64 PCI-e system with this would be a great bang for the buck upgrade for him.

Reading the title of the thread I thought maybe nVidia unlocked the 4x pipes in the GT core. But its simply a gimmick by eVga it seems. Still a very Good price for what it is. I just hate the name they gave it.

Does Sli HAVE to have the same brand and model card? Or does it just need to have the same internal gpu? IE: 7600gt to 7600gt? I may do alittle research on this.

Also, I didn't see the specs say anything about the pipe count. At this price it could be a 8x pipe GT with the same GT clocks.

Just same GPU, that's all.

The missing pipe count does seem a bit worrisome. However, the 7600 series (all models) have been 12 pipeline cards thus far. It wouldn't make any sense for eVGA to make a card that would be as slow or slower than their 7600GS OC and cost significantly more.

There are 16 pipes in the G73 core.See HERE for example.

We know that a 7600 Series refresh is coming soon, in September, possibly on 80nm core. My optimistic scenario is a 7650 GTX or 7700GT with 16 unlocked pipes. Anyway, it's now or never for the 16 pipes to be enabled in the G73 core, as the coming refresh is certainly the last call for mid-range DX9 NVidia cards.
